Uganda is one of the most geographically diverse countries in Africa. During this 18-Day Uganda Safari, you will experience this incredible variety, from the remote north to the volcanic landscapes of the south. In the game parks, you will search for lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, hyenas, hippos, zebras, giraffes and the unique Ugandan kob. Of course, the journey also takes you takes you to the chimpanzees and mountain gorillas in the high-altitude montane rainforests. Together with a welcoming local population, all the ingredients for an unforgettable adventure along Uganda’s highlights are present!

On this tour, we have carefully selected the accommodations for their beautiful locations, small scale, and atmosphere. For instance, you can choose to stay at the beautifully situated Mutanda Lake Resort. Discover your route below. This itinerary is the starting point, tailor your adventure with the specific experiences.

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our driver guide who will take you to your first accommodation in Entebbe. Here, you can enjoy a drink under the African starry sky and a well-deserved night’s rest. Located near Kampala on the shores of Lake Victoria, Entebbe has a relaxed and local feel. If you arrive early, maybe stretch your legs with a stroll through Entebbe Botanical Garden or shop for souvenirs at Entebbe Craft Village.

Culture in Uganda

In the morning, you will meet your guide, who will give you a briefing on your trip. Next, you will embark on a drive of about 3 hours east through colorful markets and beautiful scenery to the historic town of Jinja. Outside the town lie many lodges and hotels, all offering stunning views of the Nile, the longest river on Earth. From here, you can enjoy the beautiful nature and the view, but there are also plenty of activities to enjoy. 

One overnight stay is planned in Jinja. This offers a peaceful and beautiful start to your 18 Days Uganda safari. It breaks up the long journey from Entebbe to Sipi Falls. Here you can also go white water rafting, horseback riding, tubing on the Nile, boat cruise to the source of the Nile, bungee jumping, mountain biking, and quad biking. If you would like to participate in more than one activity in Jinja, we recommend booking an extra night. 

Jinja

Jinja is a city in the eastern region Uganda. It is located on the eastern shore of Lake Victoria, the largest lake in Africa. Before the arrival of the Europeans, Jinja was a small fishing village. In the 19th century, many explorers went in search of the source of the Nile. It was eventually John Speke who found it in Jinja. Today, Jinja attracts travelers who enjoy the beautiful tropical nature and the many available activities.

Jinja Excursions – (optional)

From your accommodation, you can truly do anything! There is plenty of choice for both the adventurer and those who prefer to take things a little easier. Several sports can be enjoyed on the river or in the surrounding area. White water rafting is highly recommended for adventurers, as this is the ultimate spot for it due to all the rapids of the Nile near Jinja. 

Additionally, you can choose from tubing on the Nule, whitewater kayaking, mountain biking, or quad biking. Those who prefer to take it easy might enjoy a beautiful horseback ride along the Nile, a walk through the village, or a leisurely boat cruise to the source of the Nile. Of course, you can also simply relax at the lodge with a view of the Nile!

Family rafting

In the morning, you can decide what you want to do (in consultation with your guide). You can stay in Jinja a little longer (and do another activity) and only drive to Sipi Falls after lunch. You drive further east for about 3 hours, towards Mount Elgon. Here you arrive at a special place, surrounded by waterfalls, babbling brooks, colorful flowers, and countless shades of green. The lush nature and serene surroundings give you the feeling that the Garden of Eden must have looked something like this.

Sipi Falls

Sipi Falls

Sipi Area features three waterfalls and is located in eastern Uganda. The waterfalls lie Sipi River on the slopes of Mount Elgon, on the border with Kenya. The Sipi Falls and the Sipi River are named after the ‘Sep’, an indigenous plant on the riverbanks, a medicinal plant used by the local population against measles and flu. The place is characterized by coffee farms, streams, waterfalls, chameleons, wild vegetation, traditional African villages, and beautiful views of the Karamoja savannas.

Today you will take a beautiful hike through the Sipi area. You have an option to decide how long you want to hike in consultation with your guide. If you choose the hike of around 6 to 7 hours, you can walk past all the three waterfalls. In addition to the waterfalls, you will also walk past banana and coffee farms, local villages, and enjoy beautiful panoramic views. En route, you can spot chameleons, and if you bring your swimwear and towel, you can even swim in a stream or shower under a waterfall. Whatever you choose, it will be a wonderful day in paradise!

Sipi Falls Hike – Full Day

Accompanied by a local English-speaking guide, you will hike through the beautiful Sipi Falls area. During the hike through this green area, you will alternate between tall waterfalls and the local village life of the Ugandan countryside. You will also take nature walks along streams and enjoy the colorful flowers and beautiful scenery. During a full day of hiking, you can visit all waterfalls and see chameleons in the coffee plantations en route. It is fun to swim in one of the streams and even take a refreshing shower under a waterfall. So, bring your swimwear and towel! You can also choose to hike for a shorter period in consultation with your guide. You will be out for the entire day. Along the way, you will enjoy a picnic packed lunch.

Coffee Tour (Optional)

In Sipi Falls, fantastic, high-quality Arabica coffee is grown. Many coffee farmers with small plots of land form a cooperative together. In this way, their artisanal coffee beans are sold worldwide. You can choose a coffee tour and experience the entire process, from picking to drying, grinding with a large wooden mortar, to brewing and drinking the coffee—all at the local farmer’s, who thus earns a little extra from it as well.

After delicious breakfast, you will go for adventure in Karamoja, completely off the beaten track. You will drive for about 3 hours to Northeast Uganda. Tonight, you will spend the night in a charming camp near the village of Moroto at the foot of Mount Moroto. Various tribes live in this area, including the Karamajong, Ik, and Tepeth. In the afternoon, you will visit a manyatta (Village) of the Karamajong tribe. If you like, you can choose to go for a walk on Mount Moroto instead.

Karamoja region

The unique Karamojong culture is found in Northeast Uganda near Mount Moroto in the heart of the Karamoja region. The residents of this huge and totally undiscovered area are the Karamojong; a tribe related to the Maasai in Tanzania and Kenya. Far away from tourism, this is a jewel that perfectly aligns with the philosophy of Choose Uganda Safaris: discovering new areas and cultures in a sustainable manner, where the proceeds benefit the local population.

Visit to Manyatta

Accompanied by a local guide, you will visit a Manyatta, a traditional Karamojong homestead. Thorny brushwood forms defensive rings around a central compound, where you will find huts, granaries and cattle pens. As you arrive, everyday life is already unfolding. The locals are already busy milking animals, grinding sorghum, churning yogurt, brewing local beers, and building huts. Here and there, you will be invited to participate in centuries-old local games and try carrying wood and a kalabash on your head. Exactly what you will encounter in the Manyatta cannot be indicated in advance, as you will not follow a fixed program but will instead experience what is happening in the village at that moment. In this way, we experience the unique Karamojong culture in a relaxed and authentic manner!

Hike Mount Moroto (optional)

You can opt for a beautiful hike at the foot of Mount Moroto. You walk to the natural pool that flows over the steep mountain ridge along the plains of Karamojaland. From the end of this hike, you have a magnificent view of the Karamojong valley. You will also encounter several manyattas of the Tepeth tribe. The 10 km trail starts directly from Moroto and ascends the mountain via a steep path. The hike is classified as moderately difficult.

Midrange: Kara-Tunga Safari Camp

In the morning, you can opt to have a very enjoyable boda-boda tour (motorcycle taxi) or mountain bike tour through the beautiful surroundings of Karamoja region. This way, encounters with the locals are the most intimate. You can also choose to drive straight to Kidepo Valley National Park early in the morning, so that you can do a game drive in the park this afternoon. The choice is yours! The drive to Kidepo is one of the most beautiful drives you can take in Uganda. The landscapes are rugged, and everywhere there are kopjes (rock formations), local villages, and traditional manyattas. Upon arrival at Kidepo, you enter a landscape reminiscent of the Lion King films!

Please note: Karamoja area is incredibly diverse. It features beautiful mountains, hidden cultural treasures, rich tribal life, and more. There is no other place on African continent where you can experience tribal life in such an authentic way. If you are interested in cultural experiences and/or love active travel (mountain biking/hiking), we recommended you stay here for several nights.

Karamoja Boda Boda Tours

Karamoja Mountain Bike Tour – (optional)

A mountain bike tour through Karamoja region is a fantastic way to discover the untamed Karamoja. You will cycle along deserted colonial roads through Uganda’s true wilderness, where you enjoy the beautiful landscapes. You stop wherever you like to explore a large part of the surrounding area. It is fun to visit the villages, connect with the nomadic warriors, and learn about the local pastoral culture.

Boda Boda Tour Karamoja – Half Day (optional)

Exploring Karamoja by boda-boda (motorcycle taxi) is another wonderful way to discover the region. You sit on the back of the motorbike and ride along deserted colonial roads through the true wilderness of Uganda, where you enjoy the beautiful landscapes. You can stop wherever you want. It is fun to visit the villages, connect with the nomadic warriors, and learn about culture.

A boda-boda is a motorbike taxi. It originated as a means of transport between the border of Kenya and Uganda. Hence the name: from border to border in English. This was corrupted into Boda-Boda. 

Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo National Park is the most remote Ugandan game park, located in the far northeast of the country, bordering South Sudan and Northwest Kenya. Rolling savannah interspersed with rock formations (‘kopjes’) and sheer granite mountains in the distance provide the park with the most beautiful scenic views in Uganda. Add to that the very small number of tourists, and you have an absolute gem ready to be discovered! What makes Kidepo extra special now is that, in March 2026, rhinos were re-introduced in the wild here, meaning you can now see all the Big Five animals..

This day is dedicated to a spectacular safari experience in Kidepo. You will go on a game drive in the morning and another game drive in the afternoon. Between the two game drives, you can enjoy lunch and a moment of rest at your accommodation. You can also choose to replace the afternoon safari with a walking safari inside the park. You also have the option to go on game drive for the entire day and not return to your lodge in between. In that case, arrange for a packed lunch at your accommodation.

Game Drive – Morning

Get up early for the morning game drive in the Kidepo Valley National Park. When it is still cool, the lions often seek out the rock formations, and you might even capture your ultimate Lion King photo!

Game Drive – Afternoon

In the afternoon, you go on a game drive just as the wildlife becomes more active again after resting in the shade for several hours. In the evening, you enjoy a campfire with the sounds of the African wilderness in the background.

Walking Safari – (optional)

During the safari walk, you stroll across the savannas and enjoy the tranquility, the sounds of the bush, and, of course, go in search of various animal species. You are accompanied by an armed ranger and walk among the Borassus palms and along the seasonal rivers.

Midrange: Kidepo Savannah Lodge

After an early breakfast, embark on a long drive of about 7 hours to Murchison Falls National Park. The first three hours of your drive are especially beautiful, but the rest of the journey is also a feast for the eyes. If you stay overnight on the south side of the Nile, your final hour of the journey will be through the park. The roof opens, and you can spot your first safari wildlife! You arrive at your accommodation in the late afternoon, where you can enjoy the sounds of the animals around you and the beautiful view. You will stay in Murchison Falls for the next three nights.

Murchison Falls National Park

Murchison Falls National Park is the largest Ugandan game park and is split in two by the historic Nile River. The landscape varies from dense rainforest in the hilly southwestern part to flat savannas in the northwest. Due to its location on River Nile, Murchison Falls National Park is one of Africa’s greenest parks. Perhaps the most impressive thing the Nile encounters on its long journey from Lake Victoria to the Mediterranean Sea is the Murchison Falls. It is considered the world’s most powerful waterfall.

Today is fully dedicated to exploring wildlife and natural beauty that Murchison Falls National Park. In the early morning, you will go on a nature game drive, and in the afternoon, you will take an amazing boat safari on the Nile River in search of hippos, crocodiles, waterbirds, and with a bit of luck, even bathing elephants! At the end of the day, you will return to your accommodation feeling satisfied.

Game Drive – Morning

The safaris in Murchison Falls focus on the area northwest of the Nile. The green, rolling landscape is dominated by the characteristic Borassus palms, whose fruits are a delicacy for the savannah elephant. In addition to elephants, you will look for Rothschild giraffes, hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, various types of antelopes, and many tropical bird species.

Boat safari– Afternoon

Under the watchful eyes of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, and monkeys, you sail slowly along the Nile River. Monkeys betray your approach, and waterbirds are busy fishing. Elephants and other wildlife are regularly spotted coming to quench their thirst along the banks of the mighty Nile. The trip eventually takes you to the bottom of the 40-meter-hig and famous waterfall (Murchison Falls). The trip takes 3 hours. (We recommend sitting on the left side of the boat, as you sail along the left bank.)

Private boat safari – Afternoon (optional)

You can book your boat safari in a private boat. This offers enormous added value compared to the large general boat, as a small boat allows you to get much closer to the wildlife. You also set the pace yourself, and it is wonderful to share this experience exclusively with your own group.

Midrange: Murchison River Lodge – Thatched Cottages

This morning is once again dedicated to all the natural beauty that Murchison Falls National Park has to offer. You will take a game through the park. There is nothing on the program for the afternoon, because sometimes it is also nice to just relax by the lodge’s pool.  Can’t sit still? You can choose to go on another boat safari, this time to the delta area (optional). This boat trip is only available in the early morning, so it replaces the game drive. The nature  game drive will then be moved to the afternoon.

3 Days Uganda Safaris

Game Drive – Morning

After an early breakfast, you drive towards the delta region for the safari. The sun is rising and it is still cool, the best time for a safari across the savannah plains. Along the way, you make a stop at the Nile, where hundreds of hippos are basking in the sun.

Boat Safari Delta Lake Albert – Morning (optional)

Besides the regular boat safari to the bottom of the waterfall, it is also possible to take a boat safari through the delta area in Murchison Falls National Park. The delta area is located where the Nile River flows into Lake Albert and subsequently into the Albert Nile. This delta area looks like a smaller version of the famous Okavango Delta in Botswana. It is teeming with wildlife, such as hippos, crocodiles, and elephants. This boat safari is also a dream for bird lovers. Special birds such as the Saddle-billed Stork, Goliath herons, the African Giant Kingfisher, and the prehistoric-looking Shoebill are regularly spotted.

You begin the day with a visit to the impressive summit of Murchison Falls. Here, the mighty Nile is forced through a narrow gorge with immense force, after which the water plunges down with a thunderous roar, creating a spectacular spectacle. After this natural wonder, you will embark on a drive of about 7 hours further south in Uganda, towards Kibale Forest. You drive past villages, rainforests, tea plantations, and crater lakes towards Fort Portal. On a clear day, you can see the Rwenzori Mountains with their snow-capped peaks, and upon arrival in Kibale Forest, you enter a completely different world: a world of monkeys!

Murchison Waterfall Walk – Morning

At the top of Murchison Falls, you take a walk to view this natural spectacle from various vantage points. You see the waterfalls up close and feel the power of the Nile plunging with immense force through a gorge barely seven meters wide into the depths. If time permits, you can walk a little further down to see the entire waterfall—a magnificent sight!  

Kibale Forest National Park

Kibale Forest is one of the most primate-rich rainforests in Africa. Thirteen different primate species live in the forest, including the red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey, red colobus monkey, diademed monkey, black-mantled mangabey, and the galago. The protected nature reserve is situated at an average altitude of 1,300 meters and is surrounded by tea plantations to the north and papyrus swamps to the south. In addition to the primate species, many special bird species can also be found in the forest and the Bigodi swamp.

Today is entirely dedicated to the diverse monkey species that live in this beautiful rainforest and adjoining swamp area. In the morning, you will go on a chimpanzee trek, and in the afternoon, you will take a walk through the community-run Bigodi Wetland. Between activities, you will enjoy lunch and a moment of rest at your accommodation.

The order of the activities is based on the available chimpanzee permits. Therefore, your swamp walk might be in the morning and the chimpanzee trekking in the afternoon.

Chimpanzee trekking– Morning

You embark on the extraordinary chimpanzee trek. Guided by broken branches, droppings, food remains, and sounds, you search for these noisy primates together with a ranger. It is always a question of how you will encounter the chimpanzees, but coming face-to-face with an ape that bears a striking resemblance to us is a fascinating experience.

Bigodi Swamp Walk – Afternoon

In the afternoon, enjoy a guided walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary – a community-run initiative rich in birdlife, monkeys and different butterfly species. If you’re lucky, you might spot the great blue turaco, the bird this wetland is best known for.

After your stay in the first rainforest jungle of these 18 days adventure, you proceed on drive of about 2 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You travel through rural life, from the green hills full of tea plantations and crater lakes to the dry savannah of Queen. In the afternoon, you will take one of the most spectacular boat safaris the African continent has to offer.

Please note: On this trip, you will stay 1 night in Queen Elizabeth National Park. We have chosen 1 night because you will visit no fewer than 4 national parks on this trip. However, since there are many special activities to enjoy in this park (see optional activities), you can also choose to add an extra night. We tailor every trip, so we organize it exactly as you wish.

Queen Elizabeth National Park

Queen Elizabeth National Park covers almost 2,000 km². It lies in the Great Rift Valley and borders the snow-capped Rwenzori Mountains to the north and Lake Edward to the west. Central to this nature reserve lies the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. You can take amazing boat cruise here. To the west of the Kazinga Channel lies a landscape of beautiful volcanic craters. The Kyambura Gorge is a massive rift in the savannah landscape, home to a rainforest and the habitat of chimpanzees. Elephants, buffaloes, topi, lions, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, and many more live in Queen. Over 600 bird species live there.

Boat Safari – Afternoon

Queen Elizabeth National Park is bounded by Lake Edward and Lake George. These lakes are connected by the natural Kazinga Channel, which is teeming with wildlife! A boat cruise along this channel is thus one of the absolute highlights of your visit to the park. You will indeed see so many hippos in a single day! In addition to the hippos, you can spot huge crocodiles, bathing buffaloes, and a variety of water birds. When you also see a group of elephants spraying each other with water, you know your day has been a complete success!

Private Boat Safari– Afternoon (optional)

You can book your boat trip on a private boat. This offers enormous added value compared to the large general boat, as a small boat allows you to get much closer to the wildlife. You also set the pace yourself, and it is wonderful to share this experience exclusively with your own group.

Midrange: The Bush Lodge – Banda

In the morning, you leave the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. You drive for approximately 2 hours to the southern part of the park, Ishasha. Here, you take a short (1.5-hour) game drive in search of the famous tree-climbing lions of Ishasha. 

After this safari, you will continue on a drive of about 4 hours towards Bwindi, in the southwest of the country. The drive is truly beautiful and typifies the diversity of Uganda. You will drive past rainforests, crater lakes, and coffee plantations, and over mountains and hills, until you arrive in Bwindi and/or at the volcanoes by picturesque Lake Mutanda. What a view!

Ishasha

The southern part of Queen is Ishasha. The savannas of this remote location are interspersed with numerous wild fig trees used by tree-climbing lions. The Ntungwe River flows through Ishasha, where hippos live and the vegetation is lush and dense.

Game Drive Ishasha – Morning

You must get up early for the morning game drive in Ishasha. When it is still cool, the predators may still be active. As it gets warmer during the morning, the lions seek out the trees, which can result in beautiful photos.

Lake Mutanda

Lake Mutanda is located in the far southwest of Uganda, at the foot of the Virunga volcanic range. This imposing volcanic chain connects the countries of Uganda, Congo, and Rwanda. Various rainforests, home to the endangered mountain gorilla, are located in the vicinity of Lake Mutanda. The lake is therefore an ideal base for one of Uganda’s most extraordinary excursions: gorilla trekking. The mountain gorilla can be found in the nearby Mgahinga Gorilla National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, among others.

Midrange: Mutanda Lake Resort – Luxury Cottage

In the morning, you travel to Bwindi or Mgahinga National Park for perhaps the absolute highlight of your trip: the gorilla trekking. In the afternoon, you reflect on this special encounter.

If you are not going on a gorilla trek, there are plenty of other activities you can do. The options are described on Day 16.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, together with the Virunga Volcanoes in Rwanda, is the most important area for gorilla trekking. This relatively small nature reserve hosts nearly half of all mountain gorillas living in the wild. In addition to the mountain gorillas, there over 100 species of mammals and 350 bird species including 23 Albertine Rift endemics.

During the gorilla trekking adventure, you will hike and crouch through the dense jungle of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Accompanied by the most expert ranger guides of the Ugandan Wildlife Authority, you will search for traces of a family of gorillas. Droppings, nests, gnawed bamboo stalks, and broken twigs reveal that we are getting closer. When the moment arrives that you come face to face with a silverback protecting his family, observing you seemingly without hesitation, you know that this will be an experience that will stay with you for a lifetime.

Gorilla habituation Experience (optional)

Choose Uganda Safaris offers you the opportunity to undertake the unique gorilla habituation adventure instead of the gorilla trekking. During this special excursion, you will join a group of researchers to experience how a gorilla family becomes habituated. Participants are allowed to stay with the gorilla family for no less than 4 hours, and the excursion is undertaken in a group of only four people. A truly unique insight into the habituation of the gorillas.

Today you can enjoy sleeping in and a day where anything is possible and nothing is required. You can enjoy a lovely swim in the lake (among the otters), and on the lake you can go stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, kayaking, or take a trip on the motorboat. You can also choose to go for a walk in the surrounding area or take a strenuous hike over the volcanoes of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You can also go on a Golden Monkey trek here.

Bwindi & Lake Mutanda Excursions – (optional)

In this green and diverse environment, there is truly something for everyone. Various fun excursions can be enjoyed on and around Lake Mutanda, such as sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, or kayaking on the lake. A sundowner tour (with a drink) on a motorboat is also highly recommended. In Mgahinga National Park, you can climb the Virunga volcanoes or go on a Golden Monkey trek, and in the Bwindi rainforest, in addition to the gorilla trek, you can also take various beautiful hikes. Canoeing on Lake Mutanda

Water sports Lake Mutanda – (optional)

From Mutanda Lake Resort, you can enjoy fantastic water sports activities. You can take a refreshing swim in this bilharzia-free lake or sunbathe from one of the three swimming jetties. If you want to be a bit more active, you can use the stand-up paddleboards, kayaks, or Laser sailboat, and for a more local experience, you can go canoeing in one of the dugout canoes. There is also a motorboat available for a trip across the lake to spot birds or simply enjoy the surroundings (with a glass of wine). Whatever you choose, enjoy the beautiful scenery and the serenity of this fairytale lake.

Golden Monkey trekking Mgahinga – (optional)

You are going on a trek to see the rare Golden Monkeys! Several habituated groups live in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The trek takes place at the foot of the Virunga volcanoes. Once in the forest, you may stay with the monkeys for an hour. They love jumping, swinging, and playing. Photographing these special animals will therefore be a real challenge.

Climb Sabinyo Volcano, Mgahinga – (optional)

Who wouldn’t want to climb a volcano where, when you stand on the summit, you are in three countries at once?! Today you will brave the Sabinyo volcano at an altitude of 3,669m. It can get quite muddy up there, which is why wooden ladders have been installed to ensure an adventurous climb up the volcano’s three peaks. The hike takes an average of 8 hours. From the summits, there are beautiful vistas, and you can see the lakes and canyons lying in Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Boat trip Lake Mutanda

You can take a boat trip on Lake Mutanda at sunset. In an oasis of tranquility and a picturesque setting, you sail past the many small islands and can take a dip in the lake. Along the way, you will encounter local fishermen or schoolchildren sailing across the lake in hollowed-out tree trunks.

It is with very intense memories that you leave Lake Mutanda and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest behind. Not only is the experience with Dian Fossy’s protégés (‘Gorillas in the Mist’) etched in your memory for a lifetime, but also the beauty, the power, and the unique allure of Central African nature. Via the road connecting Rwanda with Kampala and Kenya, you drive to the lovely Lake Mburo NP. Tonight you can enjoy your beautiful lodge and the stunning surroundings. You can also (optionally) choose to go on a night safari.

Lake Mburo National Park

Lake Mburo National Park is the smallest savannah park in Uganda and the only nature reserve where the impala and the eland live. Located centrally in the park is Lake Mburo, home to many hippos, crocodiles, and many bird species.

Night Safari Lake Mburo – (optional)

Just before dinner, you will go on an exciting night safari where you search for galagos and hyenas, and also stand a good chance of spotting a leopard!

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner

In the morning, you can choose between a walking safari (included) or a mountain bike safari through the park Because there are no elephants or lions living in this park, this can be done safely. Both activities are a great way to explore this park and its wildlife in an intimate setting.   You can also opt for a horseback safari through the park. This can only be booked if you are staying at Mihingo Lodge.  After your morning activity and a (late) breakfast, you drive back to Entebbe across the equator line at Kayabwe. You will be dropped off at the airport in the early evening for your return flight home. This is the end of your trip through Uganda. We hope you had a fantastic time!

Walking Safari Lake Mburo – Morning

Accompanied by a ranger, you will walk through the park in search of zebras, buffaloes, eland antelopes, and giraffes. This is also an excellent way for bird lovers to take beautiful photos, as there are no fewer than 310 species of birds found in Lake Mburo National Park!

Mountain Bike Safari Lake Mburo – Morning (optional)

You will take a wonderful mountain bike tour through the lush green nature of Lake Mburo National Park and the surrounding area. Along the way, you will encounter zebras, impalas, and lier antelopes, while also enjoying the panoramic views. Due to the elevation changes in Lake Mburo National Park, the mountain bike safari is a challenging ride, making it a wonderful start to your day! 

Horseback riding safari Lake Mburo – Morning (optional)

During the horseback safari in Lake Mburo National Park, you will explore the region on horseback. It is an exciting adventure for both experienced and beginner riders. Please note: You must not weigh more than 90 kilograms and we cannot book this in advance, so availability must be checked on site. You can only book this activity if you are staying at Mihingo Lodge.
