Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park are where you meet Uganda’s mountain gorillas in the wild! The two national parks are found in the southwest of the country. Many travel itineraries plan two nights around a gorilla trek: arrival, the trek the next morning, and then traveling on. That works fine, but we regularly recommend three nights in this region. Not because a gorilla trek itself takes several days, but because the southwest of Uganda has much more to offer.
