4 Day Ziwa Rhinos & Murchison Falls Tour

Today your drive guide shall pick you up from your place of stay in Entebbe or Kampala. After a short tour briefing, you will embark on your journey north to the Ziwa Rhino and Wildlife Ranch. Upon arrival, you will embark on one of the highlights of your trip: a guided walk with an experienced ranger to see the wild white rhinos.

On foot, you can approach these magnificent animals and observe them from a safe distance in their natural habitat – an impressive experience rarely possible on traditional safaris. The reserve was established to reintroduce rhinos to Uganda after they had been eradicated by poaching. Besides rhinos, Ziwa also provides a protected habitat for numerous bird species and other wildlife.

Afterward, you will travel to the jetty in Paraa, in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park. There, you will board a boat and begin your first safari on the Nile. During the journey upstream to the famous Murchison Falls, excellent wildlife viewing opportunities will already present themselves. Elephants, buffalo, waterbuck, and numerous bird species are frequently spotted along the riverbanks. Hippos frolic in the water, while enormous Nile crocodiles lie motionless on the banks, waiting for prey. The closer you get to the falls, the more spectacular the scenery becomes. At a narrow passage just seven meters wide, the mighty Nile forces its way through the rocks and then plunges some 43 meters into the depths below. The churning masses of water create an impressive spray that is visible far beyond the gorge.

At the end of the boat trip, you will disembark and take a short 20-minute walk through the bush up to Hemingways Camp. Your luggage will be taken directly to your accommodation. Once at the camp, you can relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Nile.
