In the morning, your driver will pick you up for the journey to Jinja. On the way, you will pass through Kampala’s busy streets and colorful markets, giving you a taste of daily Ugandan life.
Stop 1: Sezibwa Falls
After about 45 minutes, you’ll reach Sezibwa Falls. A local guide will take you on a short walk around the area. The waterfalls are calm and beautiful, surrounded by green forest filled with birds, butterflies, and even monkeys. Sezibwa is also a cultural site of the Buganda people, with shrines and traditional stories that your guide will share.
Stop 2: Mabira Forest
A 20-minute drive brings you to Mabira Forest, the largest rainforest in central Uganda. With a guide, you’ll enjoy a 2-hour nature walk under the cool forest canopy. The forest is home to hundreds of bird species, colorful plants, monkeys (including the rare Uganda Mangabey), and small animals like duikers and squirrels.
👉 Optional: Instead of the walk, you can choose the exciting zip-lining adventure through the treetops – but this means skipping Sezibwa Falls because of time.
Stop 3: Boat Cruise at the Source of the Nile
After lunch in Jinja town, you’ll head to the Nile River for a 1-hour boat ride to the famous Source of the Nile, where the longest river in the world begins its long journey north from Africa’s largest lake. You’ll see the exact spot where underground springs bubble up to join the lake water. The area is rich in birdlife, including kingfishers, pelicans, egrets, and herons, as well as stunning views of the lake and river.
