The duration and difficulty of the tracking are unpredictable, but the relative strenuous trek is well rewarded once you find yourself within a few meters of these impressive animals; an experience you will remember for a long time! Gorillas live in close-knit families led by an adult dominant male, called the ‘silverback’. The silverback owes its name to the silver hairs on its back. This usually very imposing figure forms the center of the family. Gorillas spend a large part of the day on the ground, but they also feel at home in the trees. Every night, they make a new ‘bed’ for themselves of grass, branches, and leaves. You may spend an hour with the gorillas before returning to the park headquarters. Here, you will be rewarded with a gorilla trekking certificate. You will then embark on a drive of about 5 hours to Lake Mburo National Park.

After the nature walk, you return to your lodge or camp for breakfast, after which you prepare for the return journey to Entebbe.  En route, you cross the equator, where you stop for lunch, photos, and souvenirs. In Entebbe, you will be transferred to Entebbe Airport, from where you fly back home.
