Access & Location
The Haven Eco-River Lodge is located about 20 kilometres north-west of Jinja. It sits directly on the west bank of the River Nile. The lodge is less than two hours’ drive from Kampala when using the Gayaza–Kayunga Road. It is about four hours from Entebbe International Airport. As you approach, the sound of flowing water welcomes you.
Accommodation At The Haven Eco-River Lodge
The Haven offers a wide range of accommodation options. In total, the lodge can host up to 60 guests. Accommodation options include luxury bungalows, traditional bandas, family bungalows and suites, a private honeymoon suite and lazy camping tents and campsite All rooms are designed for comfort and relaxation. They blend well with the natural surroundings.
The Haven Eco-River Lodge’s four luxury bungalows. They are spacious and en-suite. Each has a cosy reading area and a shaded private terrace. Guests enjoy views of the river and rapids.
The two luxury bandas. These are traditional thatched huts. They can be set up as twin, double, or triple rooms. Each banda has an en-suite bathroom and a river view.
The family bungalow can sleep up to six guests. It is en-suite and very comfortable. Family Suite No. 10 is the largest unit at the lodge. It overlooks calm waters and is very private.
The honeymoon suite is private and secluded. It features a king-size bed, jacuzzi, swinging couch, large terrace and en-suite bathroom with river views. Guests can enjoy a unique bath experience while overlooking the Nile rapids. The honeymoon package includes a complimentary private boat cruise.
The campsite is located on a grassy area overlooking calm river waters. Guests can bring their own tents or hire lazy camping tents with bedding provided. The campsite offers barbecue facilities, clean sanitary block, hot water, solar-powered electricity and free Wi-Fi. Charging stations and USB points are available in the restaurant. For peace and comfort, no music or dogs are allowed at the campsite.
All accommodation units include high-quality imported spring mattresses, en-suite bathrooms (except camping, USB charging points, European and British power sockets, solar-powered electricity, and hot, filtered spring and rain water. The lodge is fully solar-powered and provides 24-hour electricity. Hot water is available throughout the day. Free and reliable Wi-Fi is provided across the lodge.

The heart of The Haven is its restaurant and bar, located in the centre of the lodge. It overlooks the River Nile and the waterfall. Guests can enjoy meals while watching fish eagles, otters, monitor lizards, monkeys and colourful birdlife. The outdoor terrace is spacious and comfortable. It is one of the best places in Jinja to relax with a drink.
The lodge also has a swimming pool, reserved for overnight guests only. It is perfect for cooling off on warm days. Guests may also choose to swim in safe sections of the river. The grounds are lush, green, and peaceful. Many guests enjoy sitting by the campfire, also known as “African TV”.
