Access & Location
Lemala Wildwaters Lodge is easy to access from Kampala, Uganda’s capital city. Most guests travel by road. The drive from Kampala to Jinja is about 80 kilometres along the Jinja Road. The road is well used and easy to follow. From Jinja town, it is another 25 kilometres to the lodge’s boat landing site. There is also a shorter and more scenic route via Gayaza.
This road passes through rural areas, small towns, and green countryside. Many travellers enjoy this quieter route. Guests who prefer faster travel can choose air transfers. The lodge has its own helipad, making helicopter access possible. No matter how you arrive, the final part of the journey is always memorable. Lemala Wildwaters Lodge’s main building sits on a rocky peninsula surrounded by fast-flowing water. You can hear the sound of the rapids from almost everywhere.
The lodge is built using wood, stone, and thatch. Its design blends perfectly with the surrounding rainforest. The result is natural, stylish, and welcoming. Inside the main building, there is a comfortable lounge area. It has soft sofas and armchairs. Guests can relax, read, or enjoy quiet time. There is a selection of books and magazines. A telescope is also available. Guests can use it to watch birds and wildlife along the Nile. The dining area is elegant and relaxed. It has wooden floors and well-designed furniture. Lemala Wildwaters Lodge has ten spacious suites. There are nine standard suites and one family suite. The suites are spread across the island. They are connected to the main lodge by raised wooden walkways. These paths pass through thick forest and feel very peaceful. Each suite offers privacy and comfort. The design brings guests close to nature while maintaining luxury.
The standard suites are large and beautifully designed. Each suite includes: a king-size bed with mosquito nets, bedside tables and soft lighting, a comfortable day bed, plenty of storage space, a secure safe, an en-suite bathroom with flush toilet, washbasin, walk-in shower, and complimentary toiletries. Every standard suite has a private balcony.
The balcony looks out over the river or forest. A unique feature is the double bathtub on the balcony. Guests can enjoy a bath while listening to the sounds of the Nile.
The family suite is ideal for guests travelling with children. It is spacious and well designed. The family suite offers: a main bedroom for adults, an upper level with twin beds for children, a large en-suite bathroom and a bathtub located inside the bathroom.
