The day begins early with breakfast, followed by a special chimpanzee trekking adventure in Kibale Forest. With the help of an experienced ranger, you will walk through the forest for about 2 to 4 hours, listening for calls and looking for signs like footprints, broken branches, or fruit remains. Meeting chimpanzees up close is an unforgettable experience—they are playful, noisy, and share many human-like behaviors. After lunch, you will start your journey south toward Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, about 300 km away (a drive of 6 to 7 hours). The route passes through Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you might spot elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, antelopes, or other wildlife along the way. By evening, you will reach the Bwindi area for dinner and rest. This ancient rainforest is home to nearly half of the world’s mountain gorillas, along with over 120 mammal species and 350 types of birds.

Wake up early for one of the most exciting days of your safari—the gorilla trek. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park offices for a short briefing, then begin your trek into Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The hike can take between 2 and 6 hours, depending on where the gorilla family is located. The forest is thick and green, filled with birds, butterflies, and ancient trees.

When you finally meet the mountain gorillas, you will spend one unforgettable hour watching them eat, play, and care for one another. Seeing a silverback and his family up close is a powerful and moving experience.

After the trek, enjoy your packed lunch before driving to Lake Bunyonyi, about 78 km from Bwindi (around 1 and half hours by road). This peaceful lake, surrounded by green hills, is perfect for relaxing. You can go canoeing, swimming (the lake is safe), hiking, or visiting local villages and islands where many colorful birds live.

Accommodation Options:

Luxury: BirdNest Resort

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and enjoy a peaceful guided canoe ride on Lake Bunyonyi. The lake, dotted with small green islands, is one of the most beautiful and calm places in Uganda. As you paddle, you can listen to birds singing and see local fishermen at work. After the canoe ride, you will begin your journey back—either to Entebbe in Uganda or to Kigali in Rwanda. The drive from Lake Bunyonyi to Entebbe is about 420 km and takes around 7 to 8 hours. If you choose to travel to Kigali, the distance is about 250 km and takes around 5 to 6 hours, depending on border crossing time. If you wish to spend an extra night at the end of your trip, our team can help you arrange accommodation in Entebbe or Kigali at your own cost.
